A short time ago we took the opportunity to do some Earth healing
and energy alignment work in Hawaii. These islands (pictured
above-left from the space shuttle) are certainly a beautiful
experience since the nurturing goddess energies of ancient
Lemuria are still apparent. Staying where we could wake to
the sight of its massive crater and watch it silhouette at
sunset, we feel that although a busy tourist excursion, Diamond
Head at the end of Waiki Beach is still a potent spot worth
the effort to climb. From its top is a stunning view over
this beautiful island and its ocean surrounds.
Further afield
than many bother to venture, the island of Maui offers what
must be the height of Hawaii's energy experiences, as well
as its aesthetic ones. Visiting the island for the first time,
we found this particularly so around the multiple craters of
the Haleakala National Park and, at the opposite end of the
island, Iao Needle (pictured above-right). Iao Needle is a
wet, bush-clad pinnacle of rock originally climbed by the natives
to keep an eye out for intruders from overseas. It's in a part
of the island where rainfall is a remarkable 600 inches (50
feet/16 metres!!!) every year. Surely Maui must be one of the
most emotionally cleansing places!
Our recommendation: Even
if you only have the opportunity to visit Honolulu, Hawaii
is well worth the energetic experience when you venture just
outside the city streets. However, if you get the urge, from
any hotel in Honolulu you can take a day-tour to Maui for very
little cost (around $50 each). Try calling ‘Roberts Hawaii
Tours’ (now there's a name) and ask for Pedro Freire
- as well as being a talented Puerto Rican jazz percussionist,
he's a very amusing guide whose passion is living on Maui.
